During our visit to Kenya last November, we also saw Agnes and her infant son Flanley again. Those who have been following us for some time know that Agnes became pregnant in 2022 due to abuse from her teacher. In November 2022, she gave birth to her infant son Flanley.

The last update we gave you about Agnes and Flanley dates back to March 2023. Agnes and Flanley were doing well then, but they could not go home yet. As long as the lawsuit was pending against her teacher, they could not return home. Agnes herself had to testify against the teacher. After that, a hefty punishment awaits him, especially given his position.

Now it is December and unfortunately the trial is still not over. So Agnes and Flanley are still staying at our Rescue Center. Hopefully they will be able to go home soon. Agnes and Flanley will then go to live with her grandmother.

After reuniting with Grandma, we will continue to follow her in the coming year and support her with our Every Child a Home program. Zainabu, our social worker, will stay in contact with the family and separately also with Agnes and offer (financial) support where needed.
